Ive finally got round to changing the key fob receiver after months of trying to unlock the motor by holding fob up to rear passenger window and stand in wind and rain whist unlocking:mad: it would finally unlock after pressing the button about 5 times.
But all thats gone now ive got atleast the 10m range back :D
This is how i did it

1. Firstly drop the rear seats for a good working area (also dog guard but mine wont come out)

2. Take clip of rear sunroof trim

7. Once removed insert new part by plugging in connector and fixing with plugs.(MUST BE BOLTED BEFORE IT WILL WORK)
8. Refit screws from 4 & 5
9. Refit sunroof trim and clip in place from 2 & 3
10. Have a fully working receiver from a good range

Part number is YMY 000080
Price just under £50

Also this is for after the replacement of battery in your fob.
Good luck:D

Was there any programming involved or was it just 'plug 'n play' ?

Dave

Theres no programming at all just plug and play which i was surprised by. Also the earth tag on the old unit wasnt too rusty to be fair so if anyone wants to do this then buy new part as 2nd hand will most probably be the same.

Also to add ive been petrol station tonight and left my key in, and it kicked up fine where as before i'd have to relock/unlock so winner winner

I did mine a while back, but only to find the earth lead hadnt been connected from new! (common it seems) I now have full range and a spare receiver which I am sure will work if anyone needs one!

Just one point if your receiver is weak like mine and the OPs was, dont delay, get it fixed. Mine failed totally and I could not get in the car as the alarm went off and of course the engine was imobilised. Had to disconnect the battery in the end!

There is a setting to operate alarm/immobiliser with key and its worth setting that just in case.

Mine was getting worse and worse like i pointed out pressing the button a few times before it would unlock.
Going to your earth lead didnt your receiver have a earth tag built in so when you bolt it back in place it would earth?

my rx had a metal earth that the bolt would earth on within the bracket, but the was also a tagged earth wire floating around so i connected that as well. The earth tag on the old one had corroded and I think gradually lost connection, given I good clean I am sure it would have been fine but I had the whole roof lining out (no sunroofs) so wasnt going to chance it!

Mine was also getting weaker it would stop working overnight, but unlocking with the key would then make it work for a while, but range was very limited.

Mine was only a bit corroded aswell you wouldnt think i would cause a problem.
