Was preparing to weld a sill on the Disco 1, 300tdi, 96, manual, and I remembered reading you should disconnect all leads from the alternator before getting underway. Whilst doing this I arced the heavy lead and the alarm chirped, the 100 amp alternator fuse also blew. On hearing this I knew I’d end up with problems!! Tried to start it, all lights on including the red vehicle symbol with the key, would not start. Disconnected the negative battery lead, re connected and she started fine but now the central locking, immobiliser won’t work and I’m now unable to use the key fob . I don’t get any indicator flash or immobiliser lights, tried manually locking the driver’s door but still nothing. I’ve checked all fuses, tried holding the key turned in the lock but it’s given up. When it comes to electrical I struggle so any help will be appreciated. I’ve searched and searched the forum but can’t find anything that matches.

Also got no headlights, I haven't replaced the 100amp fuse yet could this have something to do with why bugger all works??
