Just to confirm, this is on your Disco 1?
Will your pls tellus what happens when you just try to use the key?
Hi thanks for replying,basically previous owner has already bypassed immobiliser etc,also for some reason has cut the wires on the drivers door lock micro switch,its a 1994 discovery,so just want it to lock all doors from drivers lock please

So, just getting the crystal ball out here, you use the key and it only locks and unlocks the drivers door?
I think we have to guess he had a problem with the central locking and didn't care.
First step would be to remake the connections where he cut them then tell us what happens. From that we will be able to help you further.
Yes key just locks drivers door,nothing will happen as there is no locking ecu,just want it to work from the key,cheers

Without an electrical connection from either the fob or the door lock that can't happen. So you'll probably need to get a new locking ecu
But I am not the electrical guru on here. Other s with more knowledge will pop on soon.
i no it can be done,just cant find the post,seen it a while ago,thanks anyway.

Is 1994 the model year of your disco? If so its a 200 series therefore when remotely central locking with the fob the security ecu sends a pulse to a local stand alone relay which will supply a voltage to the master central locking actuator which in turn supplies voltage to the 4 slave actuators.
All the door locks are operated with rods therefore mechanically, not electrically, thats why the drivers door locks-unlocks with the key via a cam at the rear of the lock.
Inside the drivers door you should find a micro switch but its nothing to do with the central locking, Its part of the active immobiliser system.
So a quite simple system. If the components above aren’t there the the simplest solution would purchase a central locking kit from eBay, so thats an ecu, two fobs and maybe option of a master actuator , some kits come with an alarm system included plus instructions on installation.
The later 95MY 300 series has the same functionality with central locking but with the relay and with a passive immobiliser system included in the security ecu
Thats it simples.

Ok, if you wish to lock-unlock the doors just with a key in the drivers dock, as you did mention earlier, then a permanent 12v fused supply to the master actuator is all thats required, turn the key one way locks, then other way unlocks, just what that an ecu would do when you use a remote fob.
If all the other door actuators are is still in situ and functioning all u need to do is remove the drivers door card and install that bit of wire, tapping into the correct colour wire at the master actuator of course.

If there is a brown/pink wire to the actuator that's the one

Hi i connected 12v to the brown/pink wire and nothing happens when i lock or unlock,the solenoid works when i put 12v and earth to the pink and orange wires,any ideas much appreciated.

Check if you have earth on the black wire and if it is and the solenoids are reacting to direct feed on the pink and orange wires but nothing happens when you lock/unlock with +12V on the brown/pink then most probably the actuator has an internal failure.
