Don't compromise get the model you want, not just a run of the mill RR, wait the right one will come along, TBH i would rather buy a better model with known problems than a base model with none. a base model will always be a base model, the other will only get better.
Disco2? awful things, drove one before i bought my first P38 and ran away from it!

+1 couldnt agree more, plus it's more gadgets to keep you busy fixing.

I tried a disco 2 before the P38, god awful thing. Miles apart from the disco 3 i had, like driving a tractor.
 
I like the D2 in principal. If only the doors were big enough to get humans in and out... D1 with a 300Tdi might become my weekend car.

The P38 has 169k on it, hence my thought about the price. Will hold out for a DSE or DHSE.
 
If I was sensible I'd get a Tdi Classic and a matching Tdi D1 to keep the number of spare parts down.
Not a bad idea actually.
