Has anyone replaced their Wabco unit with a refillable Hydra/Kramp/Saip unit with 90 bar ( Wabco is 80 bar) ?
I did but the problem is that after only 2 years, the unit has lost pressure and my abs pump cycles after 1 press of the pedal and warranty is probably 1 year.
Scoured the web to find someone who can recharge mine but some firms say it is a throwaway item, which kind of defeats the object of buying a refillable accumulator in the first place.
Local firm can regas for £40 standard labour charge + gas + vat but say they would expect it to hold charge for 7 years at least.
Maybe I should have installed the Wabco sealed for life sphere but i put that on my MK3 Granada as that has the same setup.
My question is has it lost gas because it was 10 bar above the 80 bar of the Wabco unit or is it just a bad unit ?

It is a throw away item, if the Nitrogen leaks past the bladder it's knackered fit a new one.
Should last more than 2 years though surely ?
I have taken it up with the manufacturer - watch this space lol.
I might fit the old Granada one as I slung the original Wabco and see if it improves.

UPDATE
Took the SAIP unit off and sure enough the bladder has ruptured, no resistance if i poke a steel rod up inside from the bottom, so removed the screw from the charging port and no gas escaped at all - already empty. New Wabco unit should arrive tomorrow. Good job that I am still furloughed.
