Has anybody bought anything fit for purpose from ****part??
I know it's probably been covered many times before but why is this company trading and making profit if the stuff they punt is so bad.
Is it a case of pay your money take your choice???????????
I think more LR enthusiasts should make a stand against this junk..

I completely and utterly DISSAGREE - I've been buying Britpart stuff for my Landys for 8 yrs now - all has been fit for purpose.

My experience has been nothing but excellent VFM so I don't get this "****Part" label at all, it seems wholely unjustified in my experience.

fair do's biglad but we speak as we find, and a lot of people find it aint good and some like you find them good. six of one i guess

Thanks for sharing that Sean, but just because others have had bad experiences (some of which I can't help but believe are self-inflicted having read that) does not change my experiences and my opinion.

One of the great things for me about Land Rover ownership is the cost of spare parts and in that area both Paddocks and Britpart do a great job, as far as I'm concerned.

Opinions are like arseholes- everyone has them

I agree gcoo8154
Bearmach is good value and is fit for for purpose.
For the enthusiast on a budget Bearmach is the way to go.
For Brakes, tyres..etc, I usually pay more and go for quality long lasting parts.
From my experience and friends experiences with ****part, I would say stay well clear or make sure you are up to date with consumer rights and costs associated with trying to justify how **** ****part are to recover your hard earned!....Rant done!

If you don't like it then don't buy it...simple enough

Yes I totally agree with you but forums are all about helping and sharing experiences hence the reason why I stand by my statement to help others avoid the heartache and costs associated with buying junk:rolleyes:

but - it's a false economy to buy cheap parts - take bushes, OEM/standard bushes last years, Sh1tpart bushes last months - their parts may well look cheaper but you'll be replacing them FAR more often - that's the real problem

One of my britpart caliper seals has failed after less than 1000 miles. Could be bad fitting but the other three are ok.

So you say Sean, but I put a set of Britpart bushes on a previous Tdi 300 and they lasted at least 20,000mls and two years and then I sold the car.

Your suggestion of more regular replacement has not been my experience and to another poster, yes this is my opinion. An opinion based on personal experience not third party rumour, respectfully put forward without the need to put anyone else down.

The OP asked for opinions and for me the most interesting opinions are the ones based on actual, personal experience, so you have mine.

I accept entirely that others may have a different opinion to me but in a tolerant society and especially amongst people with a common interest can we not also share a common respect for each other?

Cheers
Dave

Hi Sean,

back's sorted and back at work, cheers for the plug :)

Hughesy, make it 12 :D

thebiglad, "self inflicted" moi!

Richard Martin, some folks just don't have the choice

Seriously guys, a quick scan through 18 years worth of invoices totaling more than my mortgage ( but don't tell the wife ) reveals that of the hundreds of '****parts' that I've fitted the only items that have been any good were :- fuel tank, £80, original £400!!! springs, front drive shaft £30, original £250!!! the door locks, gaiters, wipers, diff bearings, gaskets, headlamps, repeaters, clutch master and slave cylinder etc, etc were all CR4P

why do I keep buying this sh1te  because I live in the frigging middle of nowhere and Paddocks service is second to none when it comes to getting parts quickly and without getting hammered with postage. If my Landy breaks and I can't get to work the ferry don't run, I can't catch a bus, get a taxi or borrow a car to drive the 11 miles of single track.

I know, if I want a reliable vehicle then I should buy a Honda but I'm kinda fond of the 'Old girl' :)

Cheers, Paul
