I must be losing the plot, have 2 outside the door now...!

Got a cheap one to plunder parts from, it's a 95 DT, slowest thing I've ever driven! Have my windows working again and a few bits of trim. Productive evening.

Reason it's off the road is an intermittant fault where the engine dies suddenly. Almost experienced it going over a speed ramp, but driving fine for the time being. Where best might I start looking for a bad earth? Main earth from engine to chassis seems intact.

on mine with same problem it turned out to be the fuse box under the bonnet d/side had to change the whole thing.but did the job,
but in the end got fed up with all the problems with the p38. now gone back to a classic and now when im going somewhere i allways arrive with the car i left with

i watched a p38 limping down the m5 yesterday on its bumps stops at 30 mph.guess his thinking the same

My non scrapper is clearly chipped as it actually moves quicker than erosion. 30mph on the M5 might be flat out when not chipped...!

Fuse box added to list but think it may be bound for the crusher. Pity as it most likely has a few years left to give.

I'm led to believe you become a P38 owner for the love of fixing things. If you want 4 wheel drive and no reliability issues then something like a Subaru Outback is supposed to be the car for you?!

:)

A P38 is not a car, it's a hobby, bit like a mistress really, all the cost but without the satisfaction;)

mines ok! Little Thunderbird 2 towed a trailer about 400 miles over the weekend very happily. Bless!

Just back from 400 mile round trip camping with loads of gear and the family. Problem free thru the 230k barrier. Worried I'm now pushing my luck :)

I think that's if you want to advertise. I'd rather you just kept her in reserve and I'll PM when a bit drops off!

Unfortunately the better half isn't kosher with having 2 jeeps on the drive for long so I'll have to move it on eventually. Having a Fortress of Solitude has been nice tho....!
