Yes I have searched but just wanting to ask from you guys with roof racks
what do you use to attach things to your roof rack like waffle boards , jerry cans , boxes ect
I have rachet straps but thats not very perminant.
Also I remember reading somewhere about a weight limit
I think it was 75kg is that true?

You can get holders for jerry cans which you can bolt down to the roof rack then padlock your jerry cans in.

Waffle boards, i used ratchets when i toured Morocco, but, more permanetly, you can get kits to hold them on - depends how quick access you want to get them off again really, a length of threaded bar with a T piece clamp bar on top works well.

Weight limit, yes there is, can't remember it, but, given that you can stick roof tents up there and sleep in them without major issue, i wouldn't worry too much! (2 x men weighs more than 75kg!)

the weight limit is to do with stability on the move rather than strength of roof.;)

A quick google says it might be 75....im convinced my rrc had a 100kg limit, might have to dig out the owners manual.

Interesting cheers guys

What about tool boxs ect
I have a 3inch lift with dislocation cones and no anti roll bars so yer I dont really want to put to much weight up there , I like the t bar idea tho

i have no idea what my roofrack weighs but its heavy no ill affects driving the landy though, the tube is sometimes full of pipe and i carry a heavy ladder at all times as well

I spoke to brownchurch when I was thinking of getting my landy as it had one of their racks on and they said that land rover said 75kg max on the roof.

the bloke also said they have had 5 people with camera equipment up on top fine (I assume stationary) but they couldn't recomend that people ignore land rovers recommendation ;)

My Jeep's roofrack was attached to the roof rails with jubilee clips when I bought it. Nothing budged, even at speed on uneven roads.

Not exactly quick-release though.

I dont mean the roof rack to body I mean things on the roof rack permanently ,
Boxs ect as cant se a rachet strap being a permant fix
