safety inspected?

race sounds gay already. The whole point of things like this is so wheels fall off at the most awkward moment, people crash, break their tail bones etc etc..

Feckin health and safety ****ers!

I agree totally mate, but see it from there point of view, they have told us to build an engine powered vehicle. If they then let us thrash the **** out of it and someone gets killed, it's going to fall on the OCs head!

They get round it by "safety inspections", in reality it's making sure we have seat belts and roll cages, they also want to check out brakes! That's gay!

Well the engine finally run today! It's seen the most work since last Saturday take place in/on the go cart!

Now just need a brake lever and caliper! But need them before Tuesday!!!!

hope it works for you. need to see some pics of this contraption you are building.

This is how it was last Saturday. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353651654.964077.jpg

Not much has been done to the actual chassis, but the 4 home made wheel stations are almost complete. The rear disc holder is almost complete. The seats are pretty much sorted. The engine now runs. I think that's about it, but once all them come together over today and tomorrow, it's almost finished.

The rear axel is almost completely built, it just needs to be welded together now.

Two of the 4 wheel stations are complete. The biggest thing for tomorrow is mount the engine and weld the axel.

Well it's much further on now, manifold is now built, it's not pretty but it moves the exhaust flames away from the driver!

The roll cage and steering should have been done tonight, and that just leaves the brakes.

I went in to work this morning, the guys stayed until almost 2100 last night! The roll cage is tacked on, steering almost sorted, they have sourced a defender 4 pot front caliper and a defender clutch slave cylinder to act as a master cylinder. I'm well impressed with there progress! I will take some more pics today and get them on here tonight!
