We have been tasked to build a go cart to compete in a series of "challenges" at work. It's to celebrate the corps birthday!

I have bought a zx7r engine and now just got chain and sprockets and a brake disc, I'm down to the last few bits I need now. These are;
Brake lever, pipe and caliper.
Hydraulic clutch lever.

If anyone is willing to help I would greatly appreciate it! All the proceeds from the weekend are going to help for Heros.

Any bike type really mate. I started the basics for the chassis today.

Any 4 or 6 pot calipers will be perfect, but even a 2 pot rear will do the job better than what I have now.

think i've got a zx7 clutch master and lever in the shed, will have a look tomorrow. might even post it if you ask nice. :)

3.5 thanks very much mate! That would be a massive help!

Yes a one needing any sort of touch up is fine, thank you.

I will be photoing the build as I go, and hopefully get a video of the drag race, I mean "100mtr sprint" to show you guys.

ive got plenty of odds n sods bud. I will have a dig around in the shed tomorrow evening mate. Should have a disc, caliper, master cylinder, even got plenty of kawasaki sprockets lying around

Look forward to the build and how you adapt the brake etc, doing one myself for pleasure:)

That would be magic mate! Would you post them up to me when you find what you have please?

I have a book from Haynes on how to build a go cart for less than £100 or £200. It's a very useful book mate. It shows you how to use the standard bike brake bits and make a pedal that incorporates a cable to activate the brake and clutch. I got the basics of the frame built yesterday, just need to this engine running now!

im sure i can sort something. Let me take a picture of the stuff i have so you can see what your after, i had a big clear out recently and binned loads of stuff as i couldnt be arsed with it, but i still have plenty of pieces in the shed.

I have a brand new gn125 engine, loom, cdi etc if anyone wants it? Only done 50 miles!!! Perfect for building a little buggy for the kids... ohh maybe i should do that for ours :)

Thanks mate. I was told today that these carts need to be finished for Tuesday to be "safety inspected" before the race! So the 2 weeks I had has now shrunk to 7 days! **** sake!

safety inspected?

race sounds gay already. The whole point of things like this is so wheels fall off at the most awkward moment, people crash, break their tail bones etc etc..

Feckin health and safety ****ers!
