Battery with winch?

So i received my winch bar today from 300tdistu (not evan had chance to look at it yet ) and ill be getting a winch soon-ish.

Am i going to be ok using just the single battery i have or will i need two?

I know nothing about winches and never used one lol

You can use one battery, just need to uprate the battery

Depends what winch your using and what your using it for.

Just make sure its wired correctly tho.

Mine had a warn xd9000 and a wagon battery I think and it worked fine, I now have a winch that needs way more juice so have 2 newmax 86ah 1000cca each.

Well ill only be using it for getting myself out of trouble when im on my own and friends when they with me, basically it will be used to pull one vehicle out the mud, not sure what type of winch im going to get, any recommendations for one?

One other thing.... Do i need a certain type to fit my bumper or willl any fit?

For your battery you want a 650CCA minimum for winching
All the normal size winch will fit drum size of 66mm x 224mm

I use to have the yeti winch on the front, never let me down, I just wanted a 8274 uprated winch

Yes if you do a little water proofing

Well ill cross that bridge when i get to it then.... If only the wife knew how much i keep spending

the standard batt with work ok if its for once in a blue moon type emergency thing

If you use pulleys in conjunction with the winch it lowers the load on the winch so less strain on the winch and battery

mine was £90, possibly avaliable cheaper if you shop around, only just fits in the battery box

What do i need to do with this for it to be ok to go under water?

Seal it up with silicon?
Put it in cab?
