2004 3.0ltr Td6.
Parked up for 9 months handbrake seized, dirty fuel put in it. Running every day, gearbox sometimes refuses to change from fourth to fifth gear.
Would 2000 be too steep for this vehicle. ?

Too expensive IMO. Unless the gearbox has been replaced, you are likely to be in for a replacement at that mileage, the GM box rarely lasts beyond 90K miles. For what te gearbox and rust will cost you to fix, you could find a better one.

I wouldnt walk away but RUN , lol

Indeed wouldn’t touch it and for 2-3 K u could get a RRS or a D3 seeing prices are dropping , If u don’t mind me adding what ever LR ur thinking of plse check the insurance out first as prices have gone through the roof

If u intend to do the work yourself it’s best to get ur own scanner and a half decent set of tools , the Halfords professional range are good value for money

Personally have a D3 and at first thought the air suspension was complicated , but its not if u tackle into smaller areas , u will find due to there weight things like brakes and wishbone bushes will req replacing more often than others

Good luck with ur search and know there’s plenty here to guide u , as a side note in case it’s of interest I done a D3 buyers guide , seeing the RRS up to around 2009 and D3 are very similar

Hope that also helps
