Evening landyzoners!! Does anyone have anymore gen on the byways on the plains? I know a few were shut due to the mass amount of rain we had months ago. What I've looked up on the net isn't helping.

Basically I think that there should be a green lane session on Sunday the 28th over the plains as I've not been up and over there for nearly 4 years now! But I suppose getting rid of my defender and having to move to Suffolk didn't help :(

I have done a few big trips with you lot in the past and they have never failed to be a brilliant day out!

The troops will be training again by then. If you read the SPTA newsletter- found on the Imber Church website it will tell you when the next access times are.

The last thing you want is to pick up a byway at J crossing, push south and mess up someone's carefully executed ambush!

In fact large the impact area and the areas are Warminster and Bulford Garrisons will be OOB due to live firing. Which only leaves the area around Copehill down and Imber. Which is always rammed with exercising troops!

The Saturday of rememberance weekend would be an ideal time to do it. I will even plan the routes for us! What length of outing would you be intrested in?

hi guys, fairly new on here but iv been thinking about explooring the plains for a while but dont know what routes are open to us and when etc, iv been explooring a few local lanes but i dont know anyone else who does this so it would be great to tag along with people who know what they are doing out there, any chance of getting involved?

I know the plain very well, I've walked most of it! I understand all the public rights of way and have an inside knowledge as to what the boys are using and when. Later in the year, either Remembrance weekend or of Christmas leave I shall organise a trip, exploring as much of the plain as we can.
