hi

Will be retrofitting some usb and 12 volt ports to my D3 and thinking about the wiring

What panel do u think looks the best please , am swaying towards the round one , seeing there are round dials above the panel

Have a dual battery set up this is how I’m thinking of wiring it up

Split fuse box, so one side is from switched live main battery , other side from my aux battery

Will only be used for dashcam, satnav, recharging phones etc

Ref working out amps and cable size is the general view to add up the wattage then divide by 12 to get the total amps

Have got a chart somewhere

Many thks as always

I'd fit the one in the bottom picture, although I'd substitute the volt meter for another power socket.

This was my favourite D3 mod.

Many thks, that’s what i was also thinking ,ref the bottom panel , indeed going to remove that volt meter , is in red anyway and will ensure any lighting will be green to match the rest

Prefer the power socket , so then it’s easy to just get an usb adaptor if preferred

Also see many have fitted gauges etc in the overhead lights

That’s a good mod with the satnav , thks as always for the feedback

Plus just ordered a terminal removal kit, got so fed up with messing around with the small ones on a chain

As I’ll be doing a good few terminals , should make life easier

Next thing will be some form of tool cabinet as I’ve got bits everywhere and drives me nuts when I’m trying to find something

The bottom one looks better but like has already been said i’d loose the voltmeter for another power outlet. I’m going to have a go at building one myself, just need to cut the stainless steel and get it powder coated/painted.

Cheers , vote number 2 , for the bottom panel

Did think about making my own one but didnt want it looking likes a dogs dinner, lol

Indeed going to remove that volt meter , I have got a dual battery monitor gauge to go in its place as I’ve got a split charge battery set up

Will then have power outlets / usb and also a 3.5mm for aux from my radio
