auto box rattle

my disco has a very loud rattle when first started, but goes away after a few min.

it does it in drive, neutral or revers ect ect.

oil level seem ok.

Does any one have any pointers, ive never really looked into anything auto box wise and don't know were to start.

What makes you think it is the autobox?
Can you give better description.
Have you tried putting it up on ramps or over a pit and start it with someone underneath?

id look at torque convertor and drive plate if not exhaust or shielding

been underneath and the noise is is around the box area. would low oil cause a noise or would that only be when driven.

Is there anything I can check with out taking the box out.

forgot to mention after say a minute of idling it starts to go intermittent and after another min of so it stops completely.

will try and record it later.
