Are all front halfshafts the same length?

I'm looking for a combination of half shafts, CVs and diff that might offer a bit more length between the CV joints. Are all RH inner half shafts the same length, and likewise all LH inner halfshafts the same length?

Not too worried about strength (within limits) as I'm not thrashing it offroad; it's on 33" tyres and the tread's not too extreme. It's mostly the family wagon. I'm looking for a solution to widen the front track without increasing the load on the bearings; spacers between the axle tube and the swivels would do the job but only if paired with a suitable set of half shafts. I'd rather not pay for a modified set if anything can be achieved by mixing and matching the LR parts bin.

Guessing the P38 / D2 half shafts (that is, the spline geometry, not the shaft length) aren't compatible with a D1 axle/diff?

Having searched, it looks like the splines aren't anything unusual, so it just comes down to whether the rest of the shaft would go through the axle. Guessing nobody's really needed to try! Anyone got the parts on hand for a quick trial, or at least to sit the two shafts side by side to see if anything is obvious?

the diff splines would fit, the cvs are totally different, ones an enclosed swivel housing with old fashioned wheel brg hub, the other an open yoke with unit wheel bearing hubs

Yes, I was aware that the hubs / CVs differed - but it looks (per Ashcroft's site) like the stock shaft has a 32 spline interface into the CV joint.

I should at this point confess that I took a closer look at my Disco this morning and realised that I'm using all of the swivel travel already, so there's no straightforward way to tighten the turning circle.
