Are 265/75 tyres too big for my Classic?

A mate of mine is selling his old Discovery that has newish LR alloys and BFG All Terrains. They are 265/75/16 which I think may be a bit big. What is the forums view on this size? Would they scrape the arches? Will they spoil the look? Mine is completely original and although will go off road a bit, nothing serious

I've had BFG AT's before and they are great so would like them, albeit on my Vogue alloys but don't want to cause damage or make it look over tyred. I'd then have the 5 spoke wheels with no tyres (except my 205 16's)

And if anyone want a 100k TDi disco with working air and 12 months MOT for £700 let me know and i can put you in touch

Cheers

I have 235/70/16 on my 1995 classic and they just clear the body, any bigger you would have to trim the panels and adjust the steering stops..
