ARB locker problem / been ripped off

Last week I spotted a arb on devon forum for £350 10 spline just what I was looking for !! Well locker has come today iv got in from work and looked it over, its not as described in the post, as the post said "Is in excellent condition" thats not the case.
When I try and turn the diff flange its very stiff and makes a grinding noise/ knocking/ very rough to turn and a lot of play in the pinion to crown wheel.

Not happy.

Iv sent the fella a text message at around 10pm but had no reply as yet, saying I want to return the diff cos the problems

Payed £350 for it plus post

I agree... texts are VERY easy to ignore. Ring him up and discuss it. Don't go at him all aggresive, unless he turns out to be a twit, but, def. ring him.

the reason i sent the text was i was very ****ed off last night and wasn't in the right frame of mind to talk sense, i would of just gone mad.

slept on it and...

iv phoned the fella this morning he has apologised to me and is more than happy to refund me the full £350 i payed.

i will get some pics of the diff and a vid of the play in it, just so you can see what i'm complaining about.

seems a nice fella to be fair

I'd say for £350 and described as excellent condition it shouldn't any need fixing or money knocking off. £350 is a good price, fixing it isn't ..

I don't know anything about arb lockers, but surely if he can fix it for 100 and the guy agrees to sell at 200ish, then he will have a known, good locker for a good price.

Unlikely to be able to get the separate parts if anything is broken unless they're bearings and I'd guess Stu would know as much about that as I ..

I dont play about trying to fix diffs, I don't know what im doing so phoned steve at crown as he is always very helpfull he gave me a price of around £250
