Was wondering if anyone lived in or around Cheltenham? Are there any local clubs worth joining or informal get togethers to drink beer and talk bo**ocks?

Also - is there anywhere where you can get larger quatities of oil cheaply around Cheltenham? Looking for engine oil and EP80W/90 for axles etc...Halfords is so steep!

Thanks

You will need to travel somewhere that's likely to have these things. Look for a industrial estate or something, i travel 20 miles to get my auto paint because it's a great deal and outweighs even fuel costs!

I'm in the forest of dean, but come over towards chelt, stroud and tewkesbury every now and again - I'm self employed so do a bit of travelling!

I buy my oils from Forest Lubricants, they don't seem to have a price list on their website and I can't remember offhand how much it is. But if you want anything in bulk from there let me know and can drop it off next time I'm over that way, if you don't mind waiting until I come over next!

Forest Lubricants Ltd

cheers,
Joe

I'm in the F.o.D as well. I get my welding gas from Forest Gas, and get me chainsaw oil from Forest Products. Looks like I might be adding Forest Lubricants to the list in future too ;) They're just 5 minutes away from me as well!

forest lubricants sell chainsaw oil as well, I get mine from there in 25 litre drums. I wouldn't buy their 2 stroke though, I've heard of a few people having problems with it.

Hi, have a look at these guys they meet once a month and have local events..
www.midwestoffroaders.co.uk

Also there is a glos and cheltenham club there details are in tim fry land rover in king alfred way...also good for parts and oils..

These guys meet in Cheltenham: Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response

Also, the local farmers get their equipment by way of Cirencester, so if the Forest doesn't meet your needs then you may want to try the other direction. I can get names of shops if you're inclined to check them out.

Edit: In my experience, the phrase "Tim Fry" and the phrase "remotely affordable" are rarely found in the same sentence. I get my parts (including oil) online.
