many thanks martyn

What exactly are the codes? Also if you have hawkeye look on the circuit tests on the abs menu and do the shuttle valve switch test. If it fails put the multimeter over pins 6 and 9 on the multi plug(middle row both ends) on the abs unit. If there's no reading or a reading other than 3k ohms its the switch circuitry and you need the abs pump unit on the bench. Let me know how these tests go, you can test with multi meter only if you haven't got hawkeye available.

As I said, get the multimeter over the multi plug if you can't get the hawkeye. It's an easy fix if its just the plug like mine was

you won't be stripping it as such just the sv switches. It's usual **** poor landrover build quality issues.

LANDROVER DISCOVERY 2 ABS REPAIR Uplands - SA4

That link, you will be removing the part on the left from the bottom of the unit, put the multimeter on the plug and get 3k ohms, press each switch in turn and get 2k ohms and then both and get 1k ohms, 321 check.

If that's ok then you need to check continuity between where that plug connect on the back of the piece on the right on that picture to the two end pins on the middle row on the multi plug. If you have continuity and the 321 check is good then it's a connection issue or possible a genuine valve issue but this is a very easy check/fix to save some cash.

Put the plug from the piece on the left into the piece on the right as it would be if assembled and do the 321 check again, I had cleaned the contacts and bent the plug side connectors a little to get a good connection. If the 321 works then chuck it all back together and in the car and see how it goes.

If you don't get the continuity test you can then cut off the plug and solder on longer wire, insulated with heat shrink and drill the plastic switch cover where the plug sits and connect these wires straight to the wires from the multi plug from the car loom, it makes no difference which wire goes to which as the slabs ecu only looks for resistance as per the 321 check.

This will sort the abs valve fault (p4114 i think) and the electrical supervision fault.

Hope that makes some kind of sense, it should once the abs unit is on the bench, if you need I will pm my number and talk you through it.

if the link works ABS Mod - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.
i did mine with new shuttle valve £40 ebay genuine. takes around 30 mins
go for option B

I couldn't find that again!,
That's the one I loosely followed, I would recommend taking the unit out of the car and don't hack the contacts side just cut the plug off and re insert it into the circuit board, make sure no wires will short etc just in case.

Mine was fine after cleaning up the connections, try this first and check everything with the multimeter

hi this happnd to mine and i pulled the abs pump apart nd did the earth wire conversion and brought it external.put back together and job done all 3 amiego lights went off.common problem.

The shuttle valve switches buddy behind the black plastic cover on the bottom of the abs unit. You can do it without removing the abs unit but it is far easier to test if its on the bench.

There's is just 3 hex caps to remove switches and the plug is inside.

Test pins 6 and 9 on the multi plug for 3k ohms resistance they are each end of the middle row of pins
