Alloys wont fit??

Hello, i have a defender 90 with disco axles and disco alloys.
I would like to put these alloys onto my other defender which has standard axels. but they do not fit. I thought about putting spacers on but then the threads wont be long enough.
What shall i do???
Can you buy specific defender alloys which will fit standard axels??
please help...

errmmm the wheel spacers have new threads on them:doh::doh::doh::doh:

Ive got 30mm spacers and their fine, yes their could be more thread sticking out (the nut that fastens the spacer on doesnt use all threads. there is a recess to allow the spacer nuts to fit flush. And spacers make mine look much better with a wider stance

you can get longer wheel studs

I believe the OP is referring to a simple plate spacer between wheel and hub, I have heard of people using a cut-down brake drum for this purpose, but as he suggested you run into issues with stud lengths.

One option is to fit wheel spacers all round.

The other option is to change the axles, is the other Defender a 90 or a 110? If it's a 90 then put a pair of Discovery axles underneath it, if it's a 110 you can't do this as the rear axle is not rated for vehicle weight (same as Disco alloys aren't). In this situation the best option is to swap the rear axle for one from a later 110 (300Tdi on with disc brakes) or swap the stub axles, hubs, calipers and brackets from a later axle on to your casing.

On my 200Tdi 110 I have gone for a slightly different option, I am swapping the front CVs, stub axles and hubs for 300Tdi items which will enable the fitment of alloys, while retaining the 200Tdi axle casing and diff/shafts etc. On the rear is a standard drum-braked 110 rear axle (Salisbury) but again with 300Tdi stub axles, hubs, half-shafts (with oil seal), calipers and brackets.
