Hi
Had to fit a new battery today so got the radio code ready and the EKA code as well. Changed battery forgot to do EKA code put the key in and she fired up without having to do the code. I have checked out the rest of the alarm and it appears not to be working at all. I have had alarm fault on dash since I bought the car but as the door locks would lock, double lock and the led works just thought it was a sensor but now have found that alarm not working at all. Any ideas????

get in the car, lock it with the fob and then make movements, if the alarm doesn't go off and you still have the 'alarm fault' then i'm pretty sure its the sensor above passenger seat. i think rr classic use these too. i got one off ebay for £15.

now whilst the car is still locked open the door and alarm should sound. !!! to check immobiliser you can take the key bit off the fob and with the fob a distance away, try to start the car!!

Done all of them and no alarm what so ever. I have 2 p38's so changed the alarm sensor above the passenger door and still does not work :-(

very strange!! the last i remember setting the alarm off was when i was messing with the latch mechanism, i assume its something to do with this probably the drivers one as that has the most hammer.

another test would be to activate the window blocked message on the lcd by placing yr hand or something of similar construction on the window to simulate a blockage, then the car will say window not set, now try to super lock the car by pressing the fob lock button twice in quick succession and the car should beep.leaving sunroof open does this also i think but not 100%sure. if it doesnt swap out the alarm siren from the other p38 and see if this helps diagnose the prob. siren is under the fuse box in engine bay!!!

other than that, i'm stumped, unless its a fuse but i would imagine the fuses don't blow often on alarm systems if they have em???
