Alarm triggered on message centre

P38 2.5 dhse 2000 model. I have the message alarm triggered and a beep every few seconds. Went to start car turned key all ignition lights went dead. Waggled earth terminal and came back on. Car starts but message and beep persist. Car opens and locks with both fobs and starts okay. Any help greatly appreciated

hmm.. i would start by disconnecting the battery, checking both terminals are nice and clean, inside the inside of the clamps.
see if it comes back when you reconnect the battery

Cheers that was my first thought but I was a bit hesitant to do it. Wanted some one else to confirm it

Battery voltage/age?
Bonnet switch?

What's the downside you're concerned about?
Make sure the clamps go onto the terminals fully and there is still a gap, ie the bolt not done up all the way.
You might need to open the clamp a bit further ie with a screwdriver then tap down onto the terminal

All sorted. Disconnected battery cleaned terminals and tapped down + as a bit loose. Tightened back up and message gone. Many thanks
