Freelander 2 (LR2) Alarm unpredictable

Hi all
My wife’s FL2 seems to have developed an intermittent problem with the alarm.
We had the key fob replaced 2 years ago by a reputable auto lock chap.
All had been fine until recently when after a drive and locking it a few minutes later the alarm goes off , then sometimes just the hazards but no sounds. Bit weird.
Naturally it’s intermittent as mentioned so tricky to pin down.
Dodgy sensor? If so is it expensive to replace and code etc?
Any thoughts welcome

Check for water in the bonnet switch, also make sure the battery on the car is good and holding a full charge.

The bonnet switch does make sense as it happened whilst raining the other day. battery about 2 years old but lots of short journeys since pandemic.

Yes I too would change the bonnet switch they are not the best or just link it out see if it behaves.
