Ok guys will be setting up a just giving account in the next week
Ideas for name would be lovely:D so we can set up account.
Also going to do a design for both name tag and t-shirt logo
Any t-shirt purchases will be charity money raisers too?
So lob some ideas on here please......:D

On the just giving list is Derbyshire , Leicestershire and Rutland air ambulance , if this is the right area then perhaps we could just get in touch with them to make sure that they are happy for us to use their logo on t-****s , window stickers , they might say that they will produce their own stuff to run along besideLZ stuff but not mixed if that makes sense.

I think Boomer has a good point about the event getting sabotaged.

Despite our good cause, I think it quite likely that a bobbley/anti 4x4 group could take the opportunity to 'score' one for there team by blocking a few lanes on the day... it wouldn't take much to feck it up.
The solution is to control any 'prior' advertising of the event. This won't effect who we want to give the money to or the idea of vehicle advertising on the day.
I think vehicle advertising on the day is a great idea. If any wants to have a moan at us on they will have to choke on there cheese butty when they can 'see' we are doing it for charity.

Another thought is to have a look at Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge Official Web Site site for ideas 'n' stuff.

Am totally happy not to go down the massive publicity campaign unless people push for it, was thinking more like boomers achievement was a happy medium and you could just get coverage on handing money to the charity maybe. Whatever is best :D
But we don't want sabotage, low key is a good idea especially in its location :)

Agree on the publicity. It'd be nice to get some coverage, but if it brings hassle rather than help then we might be shooting ourselves in the foot.

"Landyzone Peaks Air Ambulance Charity Green Laning Event For All-Comers Extreme Or Not With Big Party Afterwards" seems catchy enough to me .... covers all bases anyway .. :)

wasn't thinking that we shout about it before hand ,so much as have all the planning and stuff in place so that a 4x4 magazine would run a piece on it after the event with piccies , involving the local press at the end of the run for photos etc .

If we're going for the money raising bit then minimum publicity works , but if we want to combine it with raising awareness and promoting responsible laning then we need to cast our nets wider and more assertively but not necessarily by shouting it so peoole can sabotage beforhand . Local councilors invited, letters to local paper for after the run saying how much we raised and why we did it and what we support - these all take preparing in advance to come out after the run

Very good points/idea you have mentioned. For press coverage find a outdoor reporter that is on your side and have them as a rider/passenger to gain first hand experience. Could be local paper, hunting, fishing, horse or dogs magazines would be good place to look for a reporter. Then if they do do a story it would be published after the fact. Also have a photo shoot when the money is handed over with a story.
