Hello,

After the excitement of my new car and posting to solve some issues I realised its about time I did a proper introduction!

My name is Tommy, and I currently live in Norwich where I am training to be a dr. at Norwich Medical school, eventually I am aiming to become an orthopaedic surgeon, it feels like the right progress from the family trade of my brother who is a carpenter and my dad who when he initially started out was a plasterer!

Along side the hours and hours of medicine each week my interests are cars and everything to do with them (not bling ones though, definitely not, disgusting fashion statement if you ask me), I play rugby for the Norwich medics (Heave! Rugby scrum shoves ambulance off muddy pitch after it gets stuck rescuing injured player | Mail Online this was last weekend while I was away getting my rangie, the thrashing comment was uncalled for, we played a team 3 leagues above with 13 men!) and generally try and eat well with nice beverages to go with it (plenty of proper watering holes in Norwich!)

My car history is quite full considering my age of 23 but here it goes

first car - 206 - its a car, what more can be said
second car:
Mercedes 230 GE G-Wagen - absolutely loved this thing, was a no nonsense car that was so reliable, I still wonder why I got rid of it...

the next car was a 306 - yet again, just a car, did its job

after that I hunted and found myself a 1996 N reg Range Rover Classic V8 with LPG, this thing was fantastic, loved every minute of its ownership, and it just had an unrivalled vintage class about it. Sadly a chap in a BMW drove out of a junction into the side of it the day before i started medical school, the damage classed it as a write off, and as soon as i managed to sort things out with the insurers i needed the money to go towards my house, sad times indeed, but here it is in better days outclassing modern cars at a friends....

After that it was back to germany for the super 190E I named Murray. Murray was a legend, everyone loved him! he just never gave up, he was a bargain at 750, needed the general maintenance but flew along nicely and was so comfortable on the hospital commutes, its another one of those cars i wonder why i got rid of, but mid life crisis at the age of 22 beaconed and strangely despite another 30k miles, i sold him on for more money....

and so I bought a 1999 CLK 230K drop top. Yes it was lovely, it always turned heads and i had it pristine, but i never fell in love with it, it just was not me if you know what i mean, I will miss it, and it did well through the whole winter in the snow, never missing a beat, but times moved on...

so i have purchased the 2000 2.5 DSE, as you may know from the RR section, it has some niggles, but the car is just very much more me!

I will post some pictures of it when I have it looking smart, but for now i feel i have waffled enough, i hope you like the introduction and i look forward to spending time on the forum.

Tommy

I think it sez 'take two aspirin and come back in the morning' or a drunken spider's walked in some ink and across the page.

Cracking up at the writing comment, cannot deny mine is atrocious, it's how I knew I couldn't be a physiotherapist!

Lovely to have a forum with some good banter, As for that rash, I'll get one of the pretty nurses to numb it for you (num num num).....
