Got ya, havent had the original out yet, but when i do i'll have to refer to the Do whatever bodge makes it work for dummies handbook to see what to do about it

Couldnt tell you at the moment, not sure yet, will have to plan it at a later time, wanted to see first if i could do a good enough job of the fascia, im sure i'll run into problems but will work around

LOL. I had to cut a bit from it to fit my single din flippy out one as it was longer than the orginal.
I am going to have a google to see what others did, I remember seeing one done but can't remember what they did with it.

found it, not as hard as I thought:
"the bracket that used to hold the factory single din only has 3 rivots holding it on on the back, so I just drilled those out."
This is from a 2000 Disco so I am not sure if it is the same, i wish I looked better when I put the saw into it.
Anyway I got that info out of this link:

Awesome thanks!! I will get my head around it once im staring at it but atleast i know that if he can squeeze that thing in at an angle then i can manage with a made to fit piece!

It does take some hours, more than any repair would take, but its really addictive and enjoyable and satisfying that you do it yourself so well worth it in the end, hope it does inspire some, if i can manage it im sure anyone with a few brain cells canis it that bad to do that job , doesn't look an easy one to fit a radio
just takes patience and the guts to start! Im not even done yet might be crap!

I think it looks really good.
My problem is I like things to be as original as possible, hence I still had the original head unit in my TD5.
Must admit though it was getting harder and harder to find cassettes!!
