i bought the D3 7 x seater base model , bought it as a project , so didn't want the immense extra electronics of the higher hse models

see some fit a standard sat nav , i.e. garmin, tom tom in where the sat nav normally is

but as mine is the base model its easy to replace it with a double din, as it's not tied in with gps, sat nav , on board
computers
Me fathers request to show off his old girl on LZ, misses it, will probably get another once i take him to a pay n play :D twas a stunner

Test fitting the lot with cage before securing it in, fitting and lining up nicely

Difficult to hold it all in line with one hand

Have roughly glued it in, this was the hardest bit so far one bit just didnt wanna stick but i shouldnt matter once its filled

Tried glueing this bit by just running a shoddy bead, will clean it later only to hold it there till i do something about those tabs
Time to fill it

Love your enthusiasm, my patience would have burst with the first stage and it would have ended up all over the "KITCHEN" & table, hope it all works out well.
Now where's my garmin

Nuffin wrong with eating off of it.......will add to the texture of the food.....Perfectly OK for that. :D

But if you are doing a detail modification job then it should be clean........LOL.........You do not want to get lumps in your plastic padding. :p

Cheers

though you was meant to put filler on with a knife or blade, not your fingers :)
Im only using salmon paté as filler so its not too bad ;) started using a blade but was useless in the tight spaces was going everywhere and the paté is quite thick so quite difficult to work with

Satisfied that im finished sanding the thing, its as good as im ever gonna get it with what i have, really happy with it so far, not perfect but after some filler primer and a good load of paint itll be more than enough for me, especially with the unit in!
Ready for paint then, arriving tomorrow, might get a chance tomorrow eve to get it painted a bit

All cleaned and tested again with cage and trim, the trim is as snug fitting as it could possibly get, which is great! but is about 1-2mm from being useless i think so good job there :D
Hope ya'll like the pics

Not sure what you mean matey :)

LoL there is a metal bracket just above your heater controls and below your radio which holds the bit you are making wit two screws under the radio that is fitted to body under the dash.

Mine is Facelift, so not sure if they all have them, but I think they do.

It looks brilliant though. I am tempted myself now!
