Hi guys, my first post here so wish me luck
Right disco 2 td5 2001 well looked after not given me much trouble but... on one rainy day the ace light decided to make an appearance ( amber)
Checked fluid and everything all good (gets changed regular along with filter)
So plugged her in, and no fault codes stored... strange ... tried another ecu (after checking fuses and relays etc) and the following fault codes came up,
Cleared but they still come straight back on,
For some reason I cannot perform a test on the system as it says the residual pressure dosent go below 20.00 bar.
I have tried the pressure transducer. ( replaced with a new one and still not any better)
So these are the codes I got:
Invalid pressure signal received
Hit current directional valve 1 was not achieved
Hit current directional valve 2 was not achieved
Directional value hold current not achieved

these are the figures I got from the live data stream:
System pressure 0.00bar
Residual pressure 20.00 bar
Pressure sensor 0.00bar
Pressure control valve 0.02 amps
Battery voltage 0.03v
Directional control valve2 0.00amps
Directional control valve1 0.01amps
Lower lateral accelerometer 1.43g
Upper lateral accelerometer 1.43g
Warning lamp on
Main relay off,,

I cleared the codes and they all came back, i attempted to do another system test only for it to fail again,
But this time the light when off for about a minute then when I read the codes again,
The light came back on and gave me all the faults codes as before only this time with main relay fault (or something like that I didn’t copy that one down)

I mean I’m new to the ace system so really doesn’t mean much to me I’ve gone into it as far as I can but hoping that someone on here could have some answers
Thanks again guys looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, remove the ACE relay, bridge the cavities where terminals 30 - 87 of the relay should go(the legs are marked on it) and read live data then, according to the result we'll speak again... if you used a nanocom the fault codes might be wrong but it should read live data OK with bridged relay

Okay will do,
Do I just bridge it with a bit of wire or something ? Also I’m using Hawkeye total,
And just to double check it’s the ace relay under the bonnet yeah?

Yes, a piece of wire across cavities where terminals 30 - 87 of the relay were... it's relay R14 engine bay fusebox.
Okay I will get someone to hold it there whilst I look at the Hawkeye, so basically I just need to write down the live data results once I’ve done this..
And thanks again so much for your help really appreciated

Yes, write the readings then we'll speak... no need for someone to hold anything, insert a piece of wire or paperclip across the cavities and let it there untill you read data

Hi mate I’ve already tired three in there, my original one was faulty but the one that’s in there now is 100% good

When they play up often they will not operate the relay so codes are not as expected.

I THINK the solenoid drivers on mine failed after some really heavy puddles rain soaked the block, but no proof either way. And yes I have forded beofre fine.

Hi mate I know it’s been a while but I’ve just replaced fuse box for a known working one and light still on, however I did manage to get the light off for a few mins and the live data showed everything working well, then all of a sudden relay started clicking again and no pressure or power, which are terminals 30 and 87 are ? Thanks mate I’ll let you know the result

Bridge 3 - 5
Yay results are in bud,
Here goes :
Main relay off
Warning lamp on
Rpm 0
Upper lat 0.00g (changed as car rocks)
Lower lat 0.07g (changing when rocked also)
Direct ctl valve 1 0.00amps
Direct Ctl valve 2 0.00amps
Battery voltage 11.69v
Pressure cnt valve 0.00amps
Pressure sensor 10.32bar
Residual pressure 20bar
System pressure 0.00bar
Thanks dude hope we can get to bottom of this

You have to read data with engine running
Main relay off
Warning lamp on
720 rpm
Upper lat -0.01 - 0.02 g
Lower lat -0.07 - -0.09g
Direct cnt valve 1 0.01amps
Direct cnt valve 2 0.01amps
Battery voltage 14.45v
Pressure control valve 0.00amps
Pressure sensor 16bar
Residual pressure 20 bar
System pressure 5 bar
Thanks again

Ok, it seems that there's an interruption between the ECU and DCVs... do you have RAVE or PDF diagrams, elecrical library for the D2? , how's your relation with electric circuits, do you have some experience? are you up to make measurements with multimeter at the valve block?... might involve some contorsionism

I can get a multi meter on order mate not much experience but I’m willing to give it a go, I’ve taken it to three garages and none of them want to know “, I’m determined to get this fixed haha
