See what it looks like first. I didnt have to replace mine as it is made of sturdy stuff. I do have poly replacements but won't use them until needed. might just slipped off with a bit O loosen juice :)

This is where I am at the moment. Beating it with one or two lump hammers (one as an anvil), with the lower wishbone chocked and the joint bearing the weight of the car through the hub made no difference.

There isn't space for a ball joint seperator with the drive shaft in place, so the next task will be to undo the top of the hub (two bolts to the strut), pull the drive shaft out and get the ball joint seperator in there.

Cup of tea first though!

If you have the drive shaft nut off and you are replacing the wishbone? Why don't you undo the wishbone inner pivots, so you can remove the complete hub and wishbone as one. Hang the driveshaft on a bungee from the spring to avoid over articulating the inner joint.

Once the whole assembly is off. Give the ball joint a good smack from the top. It will pop out without much trouble. ;)
 
Agree with Nodge it will never come out like that, Either take the Capilar and disc off then undo the hub to strut nuts and bolts also take hub nut off to bring the hub forward at a stright angle for you the knock it down or as Nodge says undo the wish bone clamp and pivot bolts like in the bodigt and legit video. Or saw throu the ball joint on the rubber side if all else fails
 
It went with with the wedge fork in the end: some load on the hub with the Jack and happily the taper let go:

I'm supporting the drive shaft with the Jack for now, so as to not over load the CV joints.

I now have the task of seperating the rear alloy bush from the wishbone, and knocking out the remnants of the old ABS sensor from the hub!

May battle commence!

Well after another cup of tea and letting the bush stew in plus gas for a while ;)

Well done sir! That bush should just twist off or if you have a puller that will also do the trick. Time for a cuppa for us all :)
 
No chance the old sensor was ever going to be pulled out. It took a fair bit if persuasion!!!

Not nice in there. Will clean up the sensor bore with some emery paper (or what ever I can find!) ;)

A snapped power file belt was ideal. The bore for the sensor is heavily pitted, and you can see the pile of oxidised iron below...
 
The reluctor ring looks fine (I'd bought a spare just in case). Not a 100% sure it's in quite the right place?

New ABS sensor is in. My eBay special didn't come with any lubricant, so I've used copper grease (light smear).

Ready to go back on! :)

Now to tackle that wishbone! And now wishing I'd bought a new replacement bush - d'oh!!!

Hitting threaded section with 4lb hammer doesn't seem to be having much effect. Chances are that the insert has corroded to the wishbone.

Will leave to stew in penetrating oil for now, but will aim to buy two new bushes.

Are these Delphi parts too?

Dont hit the end or you will flatten it and it will never come out. Can you not lever it with two screw drivers? Or do you have a two leg puller? Try twisting to free it up as well.
