Good afternoon all,

I must admit I haven't been on this website in over 8months!!!

Been having a lot of problems unfortunately family, health and Land Rover head gasket,

I kept the Landy off the road during these months as I was using my Grandads Navara,

I'm pleased to say the Landy now runs and I can't quite remember how long it took for it to overheat but I did 50miles the other day and it didn't go over halfway and it didn't lose any water,

However the top pipe still felt a little stiff? Is this normal and can I happily say the Landy is fixed?

Thanks Matthew

After 50 miles the top hose should be like a softer tennis ball, make sure that the tank's cap is well tightened, the gauge is not the best to rely on cos it goes to the middle at 70*C and stays there up to 120... if you have aircon and the electric fan will be on after you turn ignition off then you have a problem cos it means that the coolant temp was above 110*C while driving

Sorry late reply, it stills seems stiff to me but it's not overheating, I had it running at 2500-3000rpm for over an hour last night and it didn't loose any water and didn't overheat?

It's really starting to confuse me whether it's fixed or not :/

Leave it alone ! when it's cold you should be able to squeeze it together when hot it's under pressure so you shun't be able to

Yes when it's cold the pipe can be squeezed very easily and I seem to remember that last time I could take the cap off the expansion bottle and there would still be pressure there yet now there isn't
