Ok... this is one of the first public post about a little trip i am planning hopefully next summer.

Im currently rebuilding my 1997 Disco 1 which had a turbo failure, the trip involves driving from a theme park in staffordshire (no prizes for guessing which) to various Sealife Centres across the UK, to one in Paris and then Italy before heading to a Loggerhead Sea Turtle hospital in Zante.

The purpose is to promote conservation through education. The disco acting as like a mobile class room along the Aegean coast. And then spending around 2 weeks at the centre as a volunteer before driving back home.

One Landy and another all marques 4x4 magazine are going to run a feature on the project and advertise various sponsors, i shall also be setting up fundraising websites and a blog site etc as well as posting updates on twitter.

I guess, the purpose of this post is to see if anyone close to the Shropshire area has any parts/expertise they're willing to share to help with the rebuild.
Also if anyone has any advice on the route including areas to camp/wild camp or laning opportunities in France/Switzerland/Italy or just general overlanding advice, all is welcome!! Other than that... i shall keep you posted!!

conservation :scratching_chin: Why would you use such a old vehicle to promote conservation? Seems like a more modern more fuel efficient less polluting vehicle would be a better choice for promoting conservation

As for conservation, isn't it better to re-use old stuff than chuck it out and buy new stuff?

A new cars 'carbon footprint' would have to be added to the cf of an existing car so any potential economical or environmental gains are effectively nullified for years to come ...

In my opinion ... ;)
