Hi all,
I need to replace my drivers side CV joint but when It came to buying the correct one I was asked wether I want a 23 spline or a 32 spline. Which is the correct one for a 1988 (F) Land Rover 90. 2.5TD? Cheers Folks.

I was hopeing you wouldnt say that! I hava a slight reason to believe it is still the original axel, in which case how many splines should there be? I would rather find out which part is needed first then spend a few hours on the weekend doing it because I need the landy for work otherwise Im a wee bit screwed for transport!

Are the front drive members the deep old type or newer thin type, if they are thr old types then you need to make sure its a 90 axle for sure and not one from another model. Only way for sure is to take one out. Im 90 percent its the 32 spline type if it is indeed original. Jai

Cheers Jai, as far as I can tell its the origional one. Worst case senario its the wrong one and it gets re-assembled again. Thanks for the help.

That usually works depending on what axles have been retro fitted. Better if you can get the axle no from the casing but again not 100% as some parts are interchangeable when needs must say at a competition event. Jai
