hi all
there 4 of us booked to go france in april carping,the biggest motor either of us have is my 200tdi 3 door however we have.......
12 big bag ie 60 to 90 litre
4 rod bags
4 bed chairs
a big cool box bait tubs food beer
a prob a couple more things do you think this is poss,as we looked into hiring a van a crew cab van is over 700 quid for a week and a vw caravelle is over 400 then fuel on top and insurance turns out a expensive trip.
what you reckon any1 done something like this before in a disco or similar????

12 bags that are 90L in size? WTF have you got in them?

We managed 4 weeks in North Africa with 1 80L bag between 2.

I would look into buying or borrowing a trailer. It will be cheaper than hireing. you can also bring back loads of booze then sell it again when you return.

yeah 3 bags each tackle all sorts dont really fancy towing was thinking more of a full length cage on the roof but where do you find them

get your baits over there loads of decent tackle outlets and most of the waters sell bait ive been a few times but on the first trip i tended to take to much, are you bivvying or chalet and what area are you going

were going to cher,villaine,bivvying up,we went the other year and rented the lake between 4 of us its in the sticks but monsters in there he just sells particles thats it so take our own,will pack it in and see i'm sure we can lose some things,
i'm trying to sell a recovery truck at the moment,to makeway for a lwb van problem solved if it sells,

Thats a strange comment...instantly you raise questions of fidelity and relationships...this seems to point towards a very insecure person. Are you doubting your parther?

For what its worth, i'm unmarried and a complete slut..I just found the idea of 4 grown men in a 3 door disco with the mountain of equipment you descrbed laughable, and frankly an impossible venture.

Still..i'm sure you'll find that out before you get out of your own driveway....

yes i go laning at least once a month, in different parts of the country, im off to North Wales this weekend to do a few

ello fella, we did a similar trip but by plane, and managed to cut down hugely when we saw the cost of excess baggage.

see if you can get the owner to provide particles, and also pick up beer etc for you ( its also cheaper over there), you should comfortably do it in a disco with either a trailer or a big roof box/rack.

Let us know where u r, I have a trailer you could borro if local.

get food bait n beer over ther.Then say one bag per person 40ltrs max, leave the curling tongs and make up at home you tarts=sorted.ROd bags on the roof maybe.

Other thing that will help, is to share rod bags, most have enough room for 6/8 rods made up, or even break down the rods/reels, and you should get away with 1 or 2 bags.

Also think about a roof box, but try and keep rods in car is possible, much safer, draws less attention to the car, less risk to rods n eyes from straps/bungies etc.
