300 tdi EGR Blanking plate

hi guys

im looking at buying an egr blanking plate and hose.

I have a question for you all can you remove the hole egr equipment and mot it without it or do you need to refit it for the mot.

I will still buy one i just want to know now before i put it in for an mot and it fails

also what do i clean the hoses and intercooler out with?

and i replaced my air filter a few weeks ago and the underside was full of gunky black rubbish any ideas why?

I checked with the garage I use for MOT's before removing our's and they said removing the EGR was not an issue, and that the emmisions would only increase slightly, though nonwhere near enough to fail it.

you can clean them out with paraffin, acetone is good for the intercooler and worth doing if its full of crud,thats if you can get some near you? fibreglass manufacturers use it.

Take the inlet manifold off too and clean it, its unbelievable the performance increase. It was like a rocket after I did mine, (130,000 EGR miles on the clock).
