Hello,

I got my 90 all fired up and running earlier on today and took it for a spin. BUGGER MEEEE! It's like something else! What a revelation that 200TDi motor really is :D There are still a few things to sort mind. My temp gauge is now obviously massively over reading so what are my options?

Steve Parker stocks 200TDi conversion temperature senders, but there are two different, types, which is the right one?

Also got to remove my power steering pump because it's knackered! I'll be doing that and making up a bracket to support eh alternator tomorrow =)

It's more of a green colour. What's this adaptor that you're talking of and where can I get one? I'll be putting a 2.5 N/A sender in

or fit a temp gauge outta a depender - which i might or might not have sat here on me desk

Haha! :D You are the guardian of components new and old :) how much would you like for it including delivery? Would it all marry up nicely and show the correct temp etc?

Cheers

price will be the same as that intercooler :)

it's just occurred that it might actually be a TD one, i'll check it in the morning - or you'd be very confused if it does the same as your current one

well done for getting it running :)

God bless you sir :D There's not many people like you  Let me know either way, it'd be greatly appreciated. And yeah with regards to getting the thing running, I feel quite proud. It turned over and fired straight into life, so I took it for a quick run and following a delay of about a second (turbo lag) it doesn't half shift compared to the N/A. Obviously I'm not going to be bombing around in it like a chav but it's a welcome improvement. I'm doing away with the power steering pump tomorrow (which is about to pack up) and I'll have to devise a way of mounting the alternator so that it can be driven off the fan belt. There's also one little water leak that I can sort with a little nipping of jubilee clips and removal of rusty crap in the pipe etc. Other than that though, what a massive massive difference. I WILL post a video of it starting up and running, hell I might even make an appearance in it just to show everyone how excited I am :). I'll do that over the weekend, providing I get it all sorted by then. Tomorrow should see the last of the niggly little jobs sorted, all apart from the temp gauge obviously ;)

Thanks for all the help and support and gifts (Sean) so far!

p.s. if your gauge is in fact a TD gauge, do you reckon one of those Steve Parker senders will be any good? My old sender went away with my old engine today so I'd have to buy that and the adapter otherwise, which is going to work out more expensive than a Steve Parker thingy.

You might be better just buying a 200 depender gauge off of ebay, i don't think they're that expensive. That's what i did, just swapped em over and it's a treat!

Good news on the engine swap, good work - you will get loads better fuel economy anorl, it will be a real pleasure to drive now!

Looks smart, I'm still using my N/A loom though =) I'll see if there's a gauge somewhere down at the garage tomorrow, if not I'll let you know and if yours turns out to be a TD gauge, I'll get a Steve Parker sender thingy!

Cheers

Just for the record, there is no way that a 2.5 N/A temp sender will screw straight into the Disco engine is there? I might be able to get a sender for nothing, if so, where do I get the adapter from, or does anyone have a part number?

Thanks
