Hi, the garage that I work for has just sold a 2005 freelander which after 2 weeks suddenly cut out when the owner was driving it.
I've been out to it today to plug in diagnostic but it's coming up with nothing.
When you turn the key you get all the ignition lights but when you crank all you get is a single click from the alarm unit that's tucked up high behind the radio.
Also I noticed that the heater blower and aircon don't seem to be on but I've checked all the fuses I can find.
So my question to all you landrover experts is

1, what the hell is wrong with
2, how the hell do I fix it

Cheers in advance

Paul

at a guess change the battery in the fob and synch the fob to the car

so you work for a garage, yet you or any of its other employees dont know whats wrong with it, so your asking on a forum?????

please state the name of garage so I never take my car there:rolleyes:

will the customer be paying for a diagnostic check, then you'll donate to the forum, lol

What I'm asking the obviously ignorant and arrogant know it all cocks on this forum is, is there anything that I should be looking out for that's a common electrical problem on the freelander, like say the spider issue on the discoverys.
I should have known better

I know they are both **** so got confused trying to tell them apart.

We aren't a repair garage, just sales. I'm an auto spark but mainly just fit trackers etc for them. The car was sold last month locally but just cut out and stopped while new owner was driving.
Our after sales team asked me if I could have a quick look as I was there fitting a tracker to a discovery2. I knew there was issues in the past with the spider unit on that model so was just asking people on this forum who have obviously got more knowledge of possible problems and solutions for help incase there was any similar issues with the freelander.
Sorry for asking as I was obviously wrong

Bye

Big man on the forum. Only live in Basildon mate so more than happy to come and meet you if you've got a problem?

If yer an auto sparky surely you can tell us if there is a feed to the starter motor or if the fuel pump is priming up when the key is turned?

Does the bcm have power?

And if ya want some help, drop the big man act while yer at it. ;)

most members on here know that you need thick skin to be here in the first place, after all, we own gaylanders, most new members place a introduction on themselves before steaming in asking questions and expecting to get the correct answers, all of your posts have been asking the same question, and calling us names, and it aint even your car, its a customers, perhaps it would be better to direct them to this forum,

Ha! So you work for a company you think sells ****? Good job!

Well there's only about 8 used car dealers in Basildon as far as I can tell, from Dunton Hills to South Benfleet anyway.
I wonder how hard it would be to find one that has a sparky called Paul and send them a link to this thread?

Sounds like a larf, but personally I don't have the fingernails for it.
Damn - maybe I should change my car!
