hi guys again,
was taking my son to karate tonight, drove over speed hump slowly ,as you do,
then my landie lost all control,
had to drive home at max. 5mph and that was hard going,
horrible clunking and banging going on ,
had a quick look and i know very little,
rear wheels aint straight, both parallel, but aiming to side slightly,
rear wheels sitting far back in wheel arches,
rear right wheel looks as though it is sticking out past the arch more than left wheel
rear axle looks as though it is tilting forward to the ground?
springs and shocks look ok but i dont really know
rear propshaft (the turning bar that joins box to axle)is coming away from box, i can see the splines and the rest of it,
couldnt see much more as it is dark and wet,
there has been a clunking sound when changing gear for a while now, like when i let the clutch out and gear engages,or if i push on and off the gas,

any advice would be great , dont worry deano advice would be amazing,
i think this one is going to cost alot,

please and thanks deano

a frame ball joint popped out (on top in middle of axle),has it been clunking for a good while ,or trailing arm mounting snapped

Trailing arm: Black tube arrowed in this pic.

One on each side, bolt from axle to chassis to prevent rear-axle steering.

hi
maybe not its pishing down and my torch bulb has just blown,
so tomorrow it is,
i think the clunking was coming from propshaft , but not sure,
all i know is i had to change gear very gently to prevent the clunking,
it looks as though the axle has came loose,
moved to the side and backwards, and tilted forward, which has allowed the prop to come free,
is the trailing arm mount a big job to fix?
thanks deano,
ps, a big thanks to all genuine replies, i would be lost without them,
the rest of yi can f__k off ,, lol

Copied from one of me old freds....

I got these weld-on brackets from a local Indy for £12 each (I suspect that he got them from Paddocks)

I spent a happy hour and a half grinding off the old brackets and my son them came around and welded them on for me

All I need to do now is paint them.
