2.8 TGV engine

The LRO mag put one if their disco a few years ago (may be 5), so get a back copy and read all about it.

If you get one of these then get an autobox, they 'eat' R380s fairly quickly.

v popular in southern US Im told,where they would have auto boxes as standard.

What are the forces doing about 300tdis now?I remember when presented with the first td5s they told LR they could keep 'em......

One of the Land Rover Monthly staff cars has one too, a nice 110 County with the 2.8 fitted. Not heard much about the engine itself, just fitting e.t.c

Ah I see now

needs autobox beefier drive train or very gentle right foot
Spare's are expensive too i believe.
hence £2.50, lion bar and pack of crisps

Hi all - Has anyone got any updates on these engine? I am thinking of changing my TD5 engine

Why would it eat an R380? They are rated to 380nm, 277ft/lb is 375nm close but should just last, for a bit

I've got one. Had it since 2012. Super. With the variable nozzle turbo (or whatever the hell the proper name is) it just grunts from 800rpm. I've fitted a full width intercooler and a Defender transfer box to correct the gearing and it will catch out all of the boy racers at the lights. Got a HD torque converter in the garage waiting to go on too.

The Td5 passed all Military testing, bar EMP protection because it had an ECU.
