110 suspension am I mad.

The station wagon with the Boge unit was fitted with lighter duty springs, as the boge unit helped when big load was applied.

The station wagon was later supplied without boge unit and had different springs to compensate ( land rover saving money) .

If you are not going to have a big load then you don't need heavy duty springs. HTSH
 
I have britpart HD springs and terrafirma big bore expedition shocks on the 90.. The HD springs are good, fully loaded with my expedition kit she sits at standard hight and is as comfy as it was on standard duty springs unladen.. Off road I have never had any issues, I have done axle twisters and it looks like if anything I get better articulation than standard springs, also sits about a inch higher than standard when unladen.

The main down side is when it's unladen it's almost unbearable, even average roads my the 90 shudders and bounce around.. It's really uncomfortable.

I'll remind you of this post when we're in the middle of the desert contemplating where to get some replacement 90 springs from to replace the shoddy ****part ones ;)




All i know on the subject is ****part can not make leaf springs :mad: (but GB Springs can :D)

I've got a 300Tdi 110 C.S.W. and I've just removed the 'self levelling unit', the suspension was a little tired before, so it is DEFINITELY tired now:D:D, I don't carry or tow stupidly heavy weights on a regular basis, but from what I've read H.D. springs are still the way to go:confused::confused:
So, anyway, it's late, I'm off to bed, but as ever your wisdom/advice/abuse is appreciated:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

here, this'll help.PART

if your not lugging weight or towing much i'd just stick new standards on with new shocks.
if you fit heavy duties you'll need new fillings.

one of the biggest reason to not buy the **** part ones has to be:

If you keep buying there **** then they will keep making there ****! :eek:

Your actively encouraging them to keep production going, the land rover world would be a whole lot safer without those cnuts making anything!
 
fit the fecking blue ones :doh: I've been running HD blues for over a year now and they're much better than standard, plus they aint ****part!

rides not bad and it doesn't wallow as much in corners

dont talk about what youve no experience of ,the yellow springs are very good along with gas shockers
 
But he's put off by the **** part ones. Blues are a good alternative, look at all the positive reviews and the fact that they aren't **** part. Blues plus decarbon shocks and its a very good ride

maybe but you dont know ,****part as you say are very good springs ive fitted most types and considerable numbers , britpart ones so know with real experience,if hes been scared off them by people that dont have anything but internet experience it would be a shame

I have been watching this thread with interest as I am in much the same position with the suspension on my 90 and have been finding it hard to find a reasonably priced, standard height, suspension kit.

From this thread, it seems that using the kit below is the way to go?

I make that a total of £174.70 + VAT, unless anyone can suggest somewhere cheaper than Paddocks?
