Ok - sits back and waits for RTFM abuse... but I did - just not carefully enough :-( ...

On page 47-1 in the WSM it shows nice clear arrows identifying the alignment of the sliding member and the prop shaft - and I have to say the arrow on the body of the propshaft is exactly as shown in the manual. However, having removed the sliding member I find that the corresponding arrow isn't anywhere to be found (I stupidly thought it might be under the dust cap but nooooo - nothing). There might be some evidence of an arrow, but more probably diagonal scratches, adjacent to the yoke on the UJ. There is also a dot on the sliding member, which doesn't match the patina on the rest of the sliding part, that may have part of an arrow, or just a diagonal scratch. I can't find any arrow type marks on the yoke itself, although there is a dot.

The WSM does say that the UJ's deliberately don't align on the front propshaft, but does that mean that they do on the rear, and if so is that down to the position of the grease nipple, or is there an arrow and I'm just looking in the wrong place?

Any thoughts, or do I just change the knackered UJ (why I took it off in the first place) and hope, or shell out £70 quid odd for a new propshaft, and save the hassle of changing the UJ only to throw the old propshaft away as it shake my teeth out of their sockets?

All suggestions will be very gratefully received!

rear prop should have both yokes in exact alignment unlike the front, whether its 180 degrees doesnt matter as long as they align
