Propshaft boots

Is there any reason why I cannot fit a protective boots to the rear propshaft on my series? Can't see any reason why not but since they only fitted one to the front I have to have that niggling thought that there must be a reason?
They certainly seem to protect the sliding joint more than not having one going by the rust on the outside of the rear one.
Just thinking that fitting one to the rear may help keep the muck out of that one too but wonder why LR didn't do it

Thought they had boots on front & rears on the series motors. You can fit these to protect the splines

Just on the front and the parts manual agrees, however they are exactly the same length and size so I am going to fit one to the rear too just to keep the grease in and water out.
I just started fitting the spiders and all four are really tight, I know its been a while since I did a propshaft but they do seem quite stiff even when eased off after fitting.

As you fit the spiders just make sure you move them once the cups are on.i hate a loose needle bearing

Done plenty of UJ's over the years, these were particularly tight and still are even after easing once the circlips were in.

Some of them spiders are slightly too long.
Are you using genuine GKN?
And the correct size?

Always fun with landrovers and the parts getting worse

How much are genuine ujs nowadays.
I hate changing them, made my son buy a new propshaft last time.
