I´ve been wanting to buy a pair of Front Runner gull wing doors for my 90 for ages, but I can´t justify shelling out close to 450 pounds per side (and that´s without the inner box/shelf unit).

Has anyone seen these for cheaper or has Front Runner got some kind of patent for them? I estimate the actual cost of producing these is less than 100. Surely if Dacia can design, build and ship a whole car for 6000 then I don´t see why a pair of gull wing doors should be around a grand.

Cheers

was on the phone to my cousin earlier today and he can get hold of one of these for under 8000 EUR for me. In perfect condition from military surplus....would love to do a 6 month tour/expediton in one of these. Its a Czechoslovak Praga V3S.

So the gullwing doors / windows are definitely overpriced!

Check out on youtube a lifestyle vlogger called Ben Brown he resides in the UK and also South Africa (he is UK by birth and a former Kayak World Champion - heck of a nice guy too) - he has a stunning girlfriend called Nicole btw - but he has a late 90's 110 called Pumba and he is currently doing a 3 month trek from SA upto Kenya for the migration and then back again.

Pumba is fully kitted out by Front Runner gear and I have to say it looks awesome and very functional - if a tad expensive....

Have a search for boat windows

Just looked on ebay rectangular portholes, quite a choice but all seem to small, then looked at opening caravan windows and straight away you are in the 400 quid bracket.

Ask member John? who has the new narrow boat as he may have more up to date info.

Get an ex leccy board or other utility rear van section got roller shutter side windows and they're cheap af to buy second hand. I might buy one of the landys next time they come around get well maintained too

I thought yet meant proper gullwings.
Any way shouldn't be too hard to knock up yet self, It's a hatch with some gas struts.

I will probably have to give it a go. I´ve got a pair of surplus side windows. Perhaps I could use those as a frame and then get the inside bit cut out. I´ll have to think about how to do it.

If you can get me a decent drawing of the bit you want cutting out, I can get things laser-cut for not very much. Would be steel rather than aluminium though.
