Part numbers and paint colours

Not sure if a main dealer (depending on Landy age) could tell you the factory colour from the chassis number, but haven't seen a public database that has this (think microcat, if it has the colour field completed at all just says 'white' or 'green')

Hi, first post here for me, I am looking at geting a defender soon and after respraying the roof corris grey. Can not seem to get the paint code link on here to work could some one let me know what the right code would be, and also whats a good and reasonably priced place to buy it, also how many litres would it take to do respray on the roof too?

thanks!

Great found it thanks, just out of interest how many litres of paint for full body respray a couple of coats inside and out would you say roughly?

I did my exterior with 8 pre-mixed rattle cans

Think guys have used small gloss rollers and done the whole outside with a couple of litres - it goes a long way once thinned with cellulose thinners

Guess it depends on how you are going to apply, how many coats etc.

Personally i'd buy 5 litres because I hate running out, but I think you'd have loads left over - some threads on here with people using 6 litres to do inside and out, but think that's a bit OTT

If you put 'howe much paint' into the search you'll ssee a good few threads and even more opions!

That looks like the same green as my buddy here has on his HCPU. We too are looking to find what colour this green is called. Any update on this question yet by chance?

Just buy up some nato green, or bronze green if you want something a bit richer.

I prefer Satin because it marks less than matt without being shiney

I couldn't be arsed to be honest. I use my 110 for what she was built for. Don't see the point in fancy paint jobs. I just want to paint the rear door the same colour as the rest as its blue because the old one rotted to bits.

If anybody has a defender that looks same colour as mine (see avatar pic) than could they please check paint code and let me know if possible. Most appreciated.

Yes. Pretty sure it's coniston green but there seems to be various shades. Goin to a place this weekend with one of those fancy colour code guns. Hopefully that sorts it.
