Rear subframe click/cracking noise

Had the mysterious clicking/cracking noise on me V reg xdi for a few weeks ,finally got on me wick , checked all bushes sus mounts diff bushes etc, so eventually bit the bullet and got the grinder out ,cut hole in floor under rear drivers seat ,yup metal plate which houses the rear subframe nut was loose at one side :eek:
Welder out zapped it all round , :D put subframe bolt back in mega tight SORTED ;) Total time to do just over an hour including a cuppa :cool:

Nice start to my freelander adventures :D

(new vcu fitted 2 weeks after purchase ) coz i read your threads and checked it it was just about siezed :cool:
 
i fink he deservs a medal - two posts and he not only fixed the chassis mount - but has told us how to do it.

Cheers m8 ;) Cracked chassis, you mean where the subframe bolt shim pushes throught the chassis ?? yer looked at that seemed ok but it dont crack any more ;)
