as the title says, is there anyone local to twickenham / feltham with 39" and an hour to spare?

i need black rubber and i need at least 39" to see if my rear can accomodate

i have a feeling 39" will not satisfy my need but would like to take a few pics to see how large i can manage

46" wouldbe better but i doubt anyone can help

so if you have an hour and a spare to suit please let me know, will happily reimburse fuel but i need to see hoe big i can go... before i try n order tyres...

douglas motors in wimborne have a 110 show motor that they put 40" mickey thompsons on,but they had to have large fibreglass arches made to accommodate them, they would be the first thing to get broken off road tho..

I cant help tho im only runnin 37s ;)

In seriousness though, your inner arches and outer arches will be the thing that limits you when you get articulation

This may be stupid idea, why not just cut the size out off wood and drill holes for studs. as by the pics theres not alot of weight so imagine it would take it no problem, then you can get a better idea?

Go on then 2 or 3 inch body lift?? The last defender with a 2 inch body lift and around £25K spent on it looked hidious. hopefully you succeed in not making it look horrible.

who did that?? gotta admit its difficult, i originally looked at spacers to bridge the rear x member gap but thought that would look crap hence chopping the whole rear end off n welding 3" higher....its not easy on a fender to get it looking 'right' disco is easy as it bolts vertically... if you couldnt do all the work i can see how 25k could easily get swallowed up, i've already had an agreed insurance value quote of 20k some time ago and there has been more work since, at the end of the day its a nut n bolt replaced rebuild... only the axle cases, chassis n body are original, chassis is better than new and every bolt replaced with higher spec... very easy to get a valuation like that very quickly ....

Just tryin to help
now now play nice :)

i have measured... to the top of the arch isnt an issue, on a csw the problem is cleasrance to the rear door 'slope' if that makes sense.

with a tape i have 50" of clearance ... tyre wise from the hub centre (ie 25 or so inches), and being a photoshop teacher i can produce as many 'make beleive' pics as i want but this is completely new territory as far as fenders go so there is still no substitute for physically standing back and lookibg at a 39/40.42.46 tyre 'in situ'

hence the plea

cheers steve
