hi,

After not using our td6 auto 2003 diesel l322 yesterday, i have gone out this morning to start and get nothing - it wont even turn over!
first time, the petrol gauge moved to show there is three quarter of a tank of diesel, but now it wont move! it also says Air suspension now inactive and showing outside temp as being minus 40 even though sun is shining!!

Any ideas! Please help - could it just be the battery?

Thanks

Sounds very much like a duff battery....

If it has died overnight, I would belooking for a current drain, most common on the early L322 are the Final Stage Resistor for the HEVAC fan and/or the Headlamp Wipers, the Alternator have been known to fail causing a) a battery drain and b) not charging the battery...

Disconnect the battery and give it an overnight charge.

Reconnect the battery and see if she'll start...if she does, great but you'll have to find out the cause of the Battery Drain....

Alternator output at the battery should be around the 14.2V mark or thereabouts with the engine running at 2000rpm.

If that is good, you'll need to see if there is a drain.

yep, the battery is finished. mine done that, i just replaced it as everynight it lost its charge, common fault.
