I thought not, you'd have far too big a smile on your face if you had
. The problem most of us have is that we inherit our hippo's from a long line of tossers and clueless yummy-mummies who've never looked after it worth a damn. When the transmission has been reconditioned and is then taken care of it works fine. More than fine actually, it's much clevererer than people here think. Well not everyone
.
Er, maybe.i'll take that as a Yes then![]()
Very, very true, Will.
A poorly maintained / neglected Freelander will give disappointing results.
I've had 2 Freelanders - both from new - and have driven over 180K miles in them.
Freelanders are outstanding vehicles that are better at some things than others - I couldn't tow a 2 tonne trailer halfway up a mountain for example - I used a Defender instead. But I used the Freelander to get the trailer 2000 miles across Europe beforehand.
You cannot really compare them as Defenders & Freelanders are both brilliant at what they do best.
But we will never persuade prejudiced people to stop thinking / telling others that their choice of Landrover is better than someone elses.

Funny isn't it how we're all pefectly willing to admit that Defenders are brilliant but not the other way round in most cases. I'd have a defender in a heartbeat, but I'd keep the Fl. It's such a care free joy to drive and all my friends and family love riding in it.
It's taken me nearly 8 months and alot of cash to put the wrongs of years of neglect to rights, but now I have a car that looks and drives like new if not far better. Even if my engine blew up I'd just drop another in and carry on - though I reckon that's pretty unlikely to happen.
have you been reading all my old posts cos that's what i believe in a nutshell
well apart from the having a defender bit, i prefer Series![]()
It makes sense mate, you're one of the few folk on here that know about the K series FL from eggsperience and not hyperbole. I'll never stop telling people it's a diamond in the rough, even if I am starting to sound like a broken record!
You just fooking wait to see what me and DD have planned for ours. But we don't want to spoil the surprises, I'll say no more.
can't wait to see what you boys come up with

Most of you haven't got a flippin clue what your talking about!![]()
And you poiunt is.....?![]()
All this is why I stopped posting for several months - We all drive what we choose to drive in what conditions we opt for, me 99% tarmac. I enjoy a bit of friendly banter and accept / give help as and when I can, but i don't really give a flying fcuk what you (all) think of my choices! I believe my FL1 to be a road bias SUV with some limited off road capability - if you want to mod yours so it will traverse glaciers (or swim rivers), then good luck and I'm interested to read your stories. Lets try and stay civil, even grown up!
Not really got one, it just winds me up!
