Hi dogsbodyWhen you forced the pump to run did it cut out by itself?
You then said that once you had pressure in system the suspension dropped and rose when requested but did the pump switch on again?
I'm wondering if you have a problem either with your pressure switch or it's wiring. Have you checked the fuse box? Is there any sign of problems under where the relay socket is located? You could have an intermttent fault caused by a cracked connection or track in the fuse box on the low power side of the relay.
Hi just tacken fuse box to bits and it look like water has at some time got in there also the smell of burnt. So look like it mite by the problem, I was wondering if this also could have something to do with the transfer box problem as well.
Hi mate thanks for your kind offer but I am in Yate just out side Bristol. We had similar problems and it turned out to be the driver.....
Not sure of your location but if you are anywhere near Bedford then you are welcome to borrow our spare as a test.....

Now you tell us.
There's a spare compressor, valve block & driver in my garage. Mind you I still reckon it's your fusebox or wiring but if you need a second set of eyes (and you own a kettle) give me a shout.

Hi all
Right an update.
I have looked at the fuse box and all ok. I have had a look at rave and found that the con on the fuse box is the brown one and the wire that i need to look at is the green one pin 1 so i checked to see if there was power coming from it (air tank empty) and nothing so i then jumped it and the pump kicked in, So fuse box ok.
I then went to the ecu and found the green wire (pin 8 ecu) and no power so jumped it and yes pump kicked in so all ok with the wireing.
So am i looking at a new ecu or something eles? The thing i can not work out is when i fill the air tank up all seems ok it gose up and down when i ask it to also when i turn the engine off and shut the drivers door the car levels it self out. But as soon as the air tank empty nothing works but nothing on the dash only the light saying car going up and one light flashing.
So where do I go from here ?????
All the best ps great site
