CB radio roof mounting

Guys,

i know theres some threads on this already and Ive had a read through,

I want to mount my CB (the actual radio, not the Aerial) on the inside of the Roof in the cab. Whats the best way to achieve this on a 90 (with headlining)?

tiz better to fit it high up on the rear - saves ripping it off on the frst branch you come across .

Sorry, i meant the actual radio, not the aerial, will edit to make it clearer...

Think he means the radio unit on roof of cab.
Branches shouldn't be an issue...

When you have a solution let me know, because im ****ed if i can find a convenient place to fit it in my 90, got mine in centre cubby box and wedge it between seat and box when i use it.

One of those bungee type nets might work.
Like in a freelander.

Why not mount it on the lower dash by the handbrake then you can see/access it and you can then mount the speaker thingy ;-) on the front of dash??

That's what I plan to do anyway.

I am wondering if one of those long sprung loaded masonry bolts into the underside of the roof ribbing might work....

edit:

wont work, cavity isnt deep enough to get the spring in...

Got the a Mud dash in and no room in that either. Raptor ones look good but can't be arsed to fit a new dash and rewire everything.

Fit a snatch bracket screwed through the centre roof rib, and then you can demount it when not in use.

although i am thinking riv-nuts might be a more secure solution that pop rivets...

What about self tapping screws, or would they pull through after a while. Is the roof bar ally or steel, where in the roof is it.
